Visa
College Student Visa
Medical Insurance
International students planning to reside in Japan for more than three months are required to subscribe to the Japanese National Health Insurance. The insurance covers 70% of charges for medical care and hospitalization. (Approx. 2,000 yen insurance fee per month will be charged.)
Travel Insurance
To prepare for emergencies, it is required that all exchange students bring comprehensive coverage, including accident and insurance for accidents resulting in bodily injury during their study period. A copy of the insurance coverage documents should be provided to the Okayama Campus Office upon arrival on campus. If you do not get tourist insurance before you leave, you must get it after you arrive in Japan.
Dormitory
If you would like to arrive before your program begins, you are allowed to enter the dormitory up to 7 days before the orientation day (Oct.1) without extra charge. (Advanced notice is required.)

Fee: 32,000 yen/ a month (utility expenses are included /meals are not included)
Bedding set: 8,000 yen/a set (Advanced notice is required.)
Room: Single room only
★We provide; desk, chair, bed, air-condition and Wi-Fi. Shared: washing machine, kitchen, TV, shower room.

Acceptance decision notification
Send the application materials with 3 passport size photos by courier to Kibi International University Okayama Campus.
【Fall Semester 2021 Admission】 Application Deadline: June 4, 2021

KIU submits Application for Certificate of Eligibility to the Japanese Immigration Bureau. As soon as the certificate is issued, visa documents will be sent either to the University/College coordinator or the student.
As soon as you receive your Certificate of Eligibility, make an appointment at the nearest Japanese embassy or consulate to apply for the visa.
In general, you’ll need the following documents:
- Valid Passport
- Visa application form from the Japanese embassy or consulate
- One photograph taken within the past 3 months
- Certificate of Eligibility – the original document and one copy
- Certificate of Admission – given to you by the school
- Other additional documents the specific consulate may ask for, depending on the country.
★All documents must be in either Japanese or English.

Cost of living (6 months approx.)
Tuition: Waiver
Dormitory: ¥192,000 (Wi-Fi at dormitory and utility expenses are included)
Bedding set: ¥8,000
WI-Fi: ¥1,700 (on campus)
Textbooks: ¥10,000 (Max.)
National Health Insurance: ¥12,000 (Approx.)
Living expenses (food, personal expenses, etc.): ¥300,000 (Approx.)
Total ¥523,700 (Approx.)
Orientation
International Exchange Student Orientation will take place on Oct. 1 starting at 9:30am at Okayama Campus. Attendance is required for all students new to Kibi International University.
※There are cases in which the schedule is changed without advance notice.
Arrival Information
There are a few ways to get to Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture. For those who require a pick-up service, please set your arrival dates from 24 - 30 September between 09:00-17:00. Please avoid arriving during weekends if possible. (Free of charge. Advance notice is required.)
